The first half of the book was really, really good. Then...the writing went formulaic with the whole immature, miscommunication path so many of these romances go. What a shame because I was like...man this book is a keeper. The last half of the book was such a whiny bore. And what is this with making the supporting characters life and ending story more cohesive and interesting than the main characters. The book didn't even end with any real closure. I skipped over parts of the second half of the book because it became too annoying. The only reason the book has a 3 star instead of a 1 or 2 star is because of the first half of the book being really good.Tags : Accidental Fiancee (Love Inspired Historical) [Mary Moore] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Necessary Nuptials

Lady Grace Endicott never would have dreamed she'd be ruined by a rake. If you haven't read this Mary Moore story, please hurry up and buy it! It's one of my new favorites and one of the best stories I have read in awhile. It's delightfully funny, realistic, unique, well written, and the main characters are wonderful as well as their blossoming quirky relationship with each other and God. A must read! Thanks Mary Moore!!
Lady Grace, 26, is on her way with her younger sister for the London season. While stopping at an inn, Lady Grace and her sister overhear someone wanting to trap the Lord Weston into marriage. Her warning to him only serves to trap herself into an unwanted betrothal throughout the season.
There is an inspirational message of God's grace woven into the story and a few prayers are said by the heroine.
It is through Grace's actions and the sharing her faith that he realizes his need for God.
Clean Christian Regency with engaging dialogue, misunderstandings, well-developed characters and a little danger thrown in.
4.5 Stars
If you love the Regency period in literature, don't miss this latest offering from Mary Moore. The flow of the story was flawless, engaging, laugh out loud funny and so very dear in tone and structure. i loved her other two books and always swear that the one i read last is her best. Well gee! I guess I'm saying that again. The scripture, unlike with other inspiration books I've read, fit the story perfectly. In other words, the scripture was not an afterthought, but an integral part of the story. The cover illustration was even perfection--it looked exactly as i expected Grace to look. Bravo! My only question is--when does the next one come out?? And, I think Max should have his own series--I loved him that much!
There are good books and better books. Sometimes the setting, the plot, the characters and the dialogue just come together in a very entertaining way. This is a great Regency romance, clean, . . . but with a rascally hero. What's better than a rake for a husband once he's been reformed. Fun!
If you are looking for a clean read, this book definitely fits the bill. However, while the plot was interesting (I'm a sucker for the regency romance genre), I can't say I loved the writing. Indeed, this book is a perfect example of the importance of the "show don't tell" practice when it comes to writing. What could have been great sadly fell to mediocrity.
I loved this book from the very beginning. I really enjoyed how Mary Moore brought two very strong-minded and determined people together and you could feel their chemistry throughout the book. I could not put it down because I wanted to read how their relationship developed even though neither one of them wanted to marry. I also loved Max...what a wonderful character to talk to! I've enjoyed Mary Moore's books, but this one is my favorite and I recommended it to my 16yr old granddaughter who needs to read something sweet and romantic every now and then to offset her heavy school load. The book is clean and wholesome and I found myself smiling and even laughing through this sweet romance.
I was disappointed with this book. It is not a totally bad read, just not the hit I was expecting. With all the great reviews I thought I was in for a treat. It started engaging but 2/3 into the book it started to get ridiculous (Granted the whole premise is a bit ridiculous when you think of it, but at least it was done in a way that was believable and entertaining). The ridiculous part is when the heroine, someone who had been totally level-headed up to that point, starts to act like a thousand other silly heroines we all have read, and keeps being the victim of blackmail a secret from the hero because she was told his life would be in danger. There were also the usual misunderstandings (the hero being kissed by a former dalliance, and witnessed by the heroine) that just felt silly and page fillers that did not further the story but just made it feel you were reading two books. I wished the story would have stayed true to the first part of the book. I just skimmed that last chapters, not a good sign.
The only reason the book has a 3 star instead of a 1 or 2 star is because of the first half of the book being really good.
